‘“We are Avelon, we are beautiful different.” Avelon believes in beautiful different. We see beautiful where others do not. We like to surprise by being counter-intuitive, to take things out of context. Avelon likes to be subtle, but we are strong when we need to be. You will see Avelon when high fashion meets reality, when effortless meets directional. You will find Avelon when sophisticated luxury meets ‘je ne sais quoi’. Avelon likes to be smart without being boring, to be casual with a flair. We do not like to shout, we prefer to whisper. Avelon leads by following itself.’

ABOUT HENTSCH MAN

The products have been designed to emphasise fit, eliminating all fanciful details and ensuring the clothes are flattering. Their collections are compact, offering a handful of carefully selected items, rather than a bombardment of too much choice. Check out their latest looks in store and read up on, the Hentsch men, designing for Chef Tom Aiken and what makes them tick over here.

Drum roll please. Our prayers have been answered as french fashion label Carven launch their debut menswear line in store exclusively with The Shop at Bluebird. This is Guillaume Henry’s first Menswear collection for the label and it’s going to be big!
“I am super happy to discover that I would wear most of the pieces we have done. But the Carven guy is not only myself – he does exist by himself, and he can take more risks than I can as a customer. I really like guys in shorts but I am not able to wear them!”

We kind of love the splash of yellow and pastels sneaking in to the SS12 menswear season and Carven have never been ones to let us down on the fashion front. Get excited as we’re anticipating great things for the new menswear lines.

This season is his first experience with a men’s collection. His philosophy remains the same, imagining a bond of brotherhood between his work for men’s and for women’s fashion.
Now in store Cotton Pique Trouser £175 and bi- coloured cardigan £145.

Authenticity, functionality and tradition are the basic ideas for Woolen Mills – part of the Woolrich stable. After 5 years of creatively directing the brand, attractive for its ‘silent exclusivity’ and rugged, woodsman aesthetic, Daiki Sukuzi has stepped down, and so the SS11 collection in store now is unfortunately his final one. Sukuzi had a love for imperfection, because that way, every piece would not be the same, hence the ‘silent exclusivity’ – and we are hoping that the new talented head designer, Mark McNairy, will not tamper with this idea too much!

Kitsune- The Reporter Collection’
Kitsuné is the brainchild of Gildas Loaec & Masaya Kuroki, the meeting between a young dynamic entrepreneur from Brittany and an architecture student who switched to fashion design. They both decided to create a structure that would combine all the things they were into, clothes, image and music of course.
Since starting life back in 1996, Acne has gone on to evolve and establish itself into a brand renowned for its unique laid back luxury and impeccable denim products. The brand continues to build on its ethos to design simple, functional clothes and aims to create a modern framework for individuality.

Acne, which stands for ‘Ambition To Create Novel Expression’ was established in 1996 by four creatives specialising in advertising, film, fashion and journalism.

Summer 2010’s collection is based on spirituality and enlightenment, and the deep pink sunsets of India. For menswear this came through in the use of ethnic prints, tailored silhouettes and bright colours. Spring jackets embody the spiritual theme of the collection, and are kept neutral as inspired by Indian and Pakistani military pieces.
Light airy pieces make this collection perfect for a humid summer day, but additional pieces like a woolen motorcycle jacket and denim jacket, make the line practical for the windy days we’ve been having lately.
One of the biggest hits of the new collection, and instore now, is the ‘snake’ cut denim. Acne’s skinniest jeans ever, and available in red, jet black or worn blue.

Just arrived at The S.A.B., Flouzen is based on an exclusive line of timeless accessories made from the finest cashmere.
Flouzen has recently been introduced on the market through its unique collection of unisex ties. Hand-knitted in the finest Italian cashmere yarn, the Flouzen tie is seamless.
Each tie is unique and accessorized with a golden embroided cashmere loop. This collection is a tribute to Honoré de Balzac, and presents cashmere square pockets combined with ties, with thin golden stripes.
Flouzen was created by young new Parisian designer Julie Rousselet. Her desire was to revisit the traditional codes of fashion, relying on each and everyone’s imagination and creativity to wear the Flouzen tie as they wish, classic or as a bowe tie, chic or casual, winter or summer.

Headlining the new additions to the Men’s accessory roster for Autumn Winter are Opening Ceremony shoes from New York.

Opening Ceremony started life as a retail space, showroom, and gallery in downtown Manhattan, bringing together emerging American talent with both young and established designers and artists from abroad.
In their own words they have “appropriated the mission statement of the modern day Olympics from the founder, Baron Pierre de Coubertin. In 1896, he transformed what the Greeks had created into a modern day business venture. The Olympics were founded under the guise of creatively merging sports, business, and global participation. Opening Ceremony takes from this foundation and applies these elements towards fashion”.
Having collaborated
with Chloë Sevigny other joint projects have including a special line for Tretorn sneakers, 80s styles for Maui and Sons, limited editions with Nike and American-made Red Wing shoes. With more retail spaces in LA and TOKYO Opening Ceremony have the perfect opportunity to see for themselves how their own label works for the ever growing armies of fans.
We’re loving the shoe collection comprising of leather upper and oversized crepe soled desert boots, zip fastening Derby’s and great boiled wool flat lace up.
