If you find yourselves in store this week you’ll be greeted by our opulent pop up space and a dinner party setting fit for Marie Antoinette.

Think of quirkily designed china sets, urns tumbling with grapes and cream cakes and decadent floral fabrics as they describe, on acid…just don’t be surprised if you spot a badger wearing specs. Simply enjoy the feast that is House of Hackney.

This brilliant interiors brand takes the concept of British home wares and turns it on its head subverting traditional products with playful and irreverent prints and imagery to appeal to a new generation.

After a decade of bland minimalism and disposable furnishings House of Hackney is on a quest to take the beige out of interiors. Described as ‘Colefax and Fowler on acid’ the wallpaper, bed linen and furniture label is characterized by prints and products that are steeped in tradition but are bold and non -conformist.

Suki Cheema

It began with a year of travel after graduating from Central Saint Martin’s school in London in 1999. Having taken hundreds of photos and translating them to prints, Suki caught the attention of Calvin Klein, Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren – all of whom enlisted his talents for colour textiles print making. After meeting Diane von Furstenberg in 2002, Suki joined the creative team to work on all prints for this iconic brand. Inspired by Diane to be passionate and follow his dreams, Cheema has launched Suki Cheema Home, an exclusive collection of pillows, quilts and rugs that will debut in January 2010.

Suki Cheema’s new hand-printed fall 2010 collection was inspired by Rajasthan. The textiles entail the graphic boldness and exquisite hand detailing that you can admire. The collection includes hand-embroidered pillows, hand-woven throws, and plush quilts.

We asked Gypsy rose for a few tips to get the best out of your decorations (old and new) this year and what she will be doing for Christmas 2009

1 How will you be decorating your home this Christmas?
I really love old broken chandeliers so will be lacing my tree with chinking glass, some vintage pea green 60’s baubles and maybe some old bambi decs -  but I’m also a sucker for simple bundles of herbs, myrtle and euc, fresh and festive.

2 What decoration is best to keep and what is best to buy new each year?
I recently did some urns with fake flowers but with a base of lichen, pussy willow, fir and twigs  – it looked gorgeous. The roses can be kept for next year to twist amongst the branches of next years tree and the twigs you can use for lots of spring projects.

3 What are you hoping will be in your stocking this year?
An Annina Vogel dove ring, a camera that captures roses well and a Victorian bath full of bubbles. Will they all fit?

4 If you weren’t at home for Christmas where would you be?
At Chateau de Bagnols in france tucked up in a big four poster bed.

5 What is your best Christmas memory?
Creeping downstairs at 6 am and making spiced apple muffins with my grandfather when I was 8 -  a Father Christmas moment.

The Collaboration with The Shop at Bluebird

Long before recycling became fashionable, Sally and Mark Bailey saw the sense in the necessity to rework beautiful old products into essential and adorable new pieces for the Home and Garden.

The husband and wife team started their business some x years ago and now based at their wonderful farm in Herefordshire, where home life blends idyllically into work life.

Whitecross farm showcases the best and constantly evolve selection in each of the loving converted barns. From Kids to Kitchenware, office to outdoor this place mesmerized the buying team from The Shop at Bluebird on their first visit.

A mutual appreciation of each other’s business and the ethics of ever evolving through recycling and reusing beautiful items old and new brought BHG & The Shop at Bluebird together in August for a shop in shop space that has gone from strength to strength.

This week with the launch of the The Shop at Bluebird Christmas room see’s another introduction from the BAILEYS family fold, their son’s new Curious Chocolate brand has been included in the gift selection for the room. The award winning chocolates include Caramel and Champagne Truffles, Mint and Orange wafers, Real chocolate flaked drinking chocolate or JOYFUL MOUTHFUL and GRATEFUL chocolate bars in Milk or plain flavour’s all delicious and becoming new classics in their own right.

We asked the Baileys crew what they are looking forward to this Christmas and what their tips are for a great Christmas…

1. What’s the thing that you love most about Christmas?
As Christmas seems to start in September for us as retailers, what we really love is the two days off (in a row!) the feeling of peace, tranquility and relief that we’ve got through it.

2. What are your ideas for a great Christmas dinner table?
Inspired by our friend Arne Maynard (after attending one of his courses on natural dying) lengths of naturally dyed ribbon hung over a branch suspended above the table.

3. Favourite Christmas food treat?
Local(ish) Gorwydd Caerphilly cheese and Eccles cakes from Hobbs House Bakery – a heavenly combination followed by one of our son Ben’s Sea salt and Caramel truffles (Curious Chocolate)

4. If you weren’t home for Christmas where would you be?
We love the chance to be at home for a few days… but this year you might find us stripping the wallpaper in our new house (with gallery attached) that we’ve just bought on the Welsh Border near Hay-on-Wye.

5. What is your best Christmas memory?
It has to be Christmas’s when our kids were younger, they loved it (and we got to play with their toys!).

We at S.A.B. buying mansions often find the same things but at different times before we bring it the buying meetings and then into store, this is one of those stories and a “reet” good one it is too!!

Bobby Dazzler is a strange but enchanting world of DOLLS and here at SAB we are addicted !!!!

Each exquisitely unique doll is hand created from reclaimed fabrics and buttons breathing a new life into discarded items from far and wide, but the very special ingredients to these dolls are the secret beans, of course we can’t tell you what they are … wouldn’t be a secret then would they!!!!

There are all sorts of dolls from Explorers and Circus performers, woodland folk, Great entertainers as well as Finger Bobs and Cards of the BD characters escapades!!

We are all so excited at the arrival of Bobby that we have decided to do a team commission of the whole lot of us at The Shop at Bluebird, keep a look out for the characters coming to the website soon!!
